Schemes Introduced to Encourage Digital India under Budget 2017-18

After announcement of Budget government is trying to encourage people to use Digital modes of transaction. To support Digital & Cashless India many initiative have been taken. These are described below:

Apps were developed for this purpose such as BHIM App. People around 125 Lakh have accepted this app till now. The main objective of this app was to encourage people towards cashless transaction.

After demonetization there is a huge demand for digital transaction or cashless transaction. In India usage of digital modes of transactions have increased from 57% to 68%. 

Government has announced that consumers can make payment by using Aadhar card. To encourage digital India POS machines will established. A motive has been set to install 20 lakh POS machines.
